This was one of our favorite places we stayed in Portugal. The lady who runs this is absolutely wonderful (as well as her pet goat and dogs). She even makes a lovely homemade breakfast, by request, for only 6€ a person. In the morning, we could smell her homemade bread baking. The suite we stayed in had a full kitchen, a super comfortable bed, nice bathroom and a beautiful balcony with a view of the hills. The property is very quiet and located in such a peaceful area. This place is an absolute gem. We felt like guests at a private country estate. Our room was very clean and well furnished. The morning breakfast was better than most. Our only problem was that the wireless internet was useless at our room. Perhaps the host needs a range-extender closer to the remote room that we had.
Only thing we regret is that we only started one night here as we on the way from Portugal to Spain! We couldn’t say enough about this historical hotel and can’t wait to expect one day we return for the longer stay. Really special hotel in a great location of Guimaraes. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly, and cater to whatever you need. Breakfast was great. For Europe, these rooms are huge, and charmingly decorated. Pool and patio were great. We will definitely stay here again.
Rooms were neat and modern, staff were attentive and kind, breakfast was in abundance lots of choices in sweet and savory. Pool area is huge and the sauna was a plus for me after completing the Camino De Santiago.
