I had a choice of hotels in Leeds or the Black Horse. I'm so glad I chose the latter. Some extra driving, but great to be in a historic building in a historic area, and so close to the motorway and service station.
You have a designated parking spot for you -- you do not need to worry about you do not have any parking on that B&B place. Friendly and helpful staff members -- You have been told and showed how to find the best route when there is an emergency to get out of the hotel immediately with safe information
It definitely had the old English charm that I was looking for. My room overlooked the waterway which was nice. There’s a Costco close enough to get anything you might have forgotten. The pub next door served the complementary breakfast and other meals throughout the day. On Friday night they had live entertainment which was very nice.
The family room was lovely. Double bed for the adults and two singles for the teens with s sitting area and desk. Included breakfast had lots of variety. Room was clean and quiet. The restaurant had wonderful food with so many different options and portions were huge. No issue finding space in the car park even though they had an event taking place when we arrived.
This is a gem of a hotel. Wonderful location, 2 min walk from Leeds train station. Restaurants & pubs close by. Staff is soo helpful & kind, happy. I’d highly recommend. Rooms/ apts are beautiful. Very comfy beds. It’s a retreat from the city & fast paced travel.
Lovely hotel, beautiful decor and nice amenities in the room. Didn’t eat breakfast. Sister property directly across the street offers great bar and food.

The downside was the food from the bar, which was not up to the Hotel standards. I did talk with the manager and he compensated my meal which was kind. The reason I mentioned this is so that they can improve the cooking method to make the food more palatable.
The two young ladies at the front desk were charming and very, very helpful.
I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who asks.
