Four night stay whilst we (mother and adult son) raced about taking care of legal aspects of an UK property deal. HIEX was a clean, comfortable, welcoming place to come back to each night. We had a double room, booked through a comparison website, but a quick call to the hotel after booking arranged an additional 'rollaway' bed with no hassle and no additional charge. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable rate.

This place has been run by the same family since the 1930s. Even the Beatles stayed here. Very warm and friendly staff. Very small room (I chose a single, although the bed was full size and took up most of the space!!!!). Still, the breakfast in the hotel dining room was great -- as were the dinner options in the evening. We were visiting family in the area and couldn't have picked a more perfect spot. All the staff were attentive and efficient. The hotel was beautiful and our room had a wonderful view over the gardens and pond. This will be our go to place for visits in the future.
