This hotel was a last minute addition to our trip. It's super close to some great hikes, set in a quiet onsen town and near a ropeway to get up to the top of the nearby mountains for amazing views. Food options in the hotel were many... so everyone was happy.
Overall, loved our stay here!!! They even had a bingo game which we joined in... pretty funny. I won and gave my prize away.
Onsen were also super nice!!! Oh, and the sound of the river all night was so soothing while we slept!!! ...
Overall, nice and central place in Kitami to stay. Bed was comfortable, several parking lots make it easy to park. We did have some late night partiers the first night, but I was too tired to be bothered and it wasn't reflective of the hotel. I hadn't stayed in a Dormy Inn, but I would stay in this one or another again. Didn't try the onsen, but it looked like a nice small onsen was available.
The studio was compact, clean, and quiet, with very comfortable beds. Check-in and check-out were straightforward and hassle-free. We especially appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail and the considerate touches provided by the host.
Our stay in the Kumoi has been nothing but great. Cozy rooms, beautiful lobby, clean onsen and lovely staff. We had both, breakfast and dinner, which always were delicious and prepared with care.
We were told that there was wifi in the lobby only, but we had no problem connecting on the second floor.
Would recommend!
The staff at the hotel were always very nice to us. From the moment we arrived to the hotel, they greeted us with a smile and walked us to our room. They explained the hours for dinner and breakfast and hot springs. After that, we went to have dinner. Dinner is really good if you're into Japanese food, there are few Western options but you're probably in Japan to enjoy the Japanese culture. When we got back to our room, our futons were already laid on the tatami. We went to enjoy the hot...
Dated hotel, as are all the hotels in the area, but very well maintained. Staff were all superb and the food service was very efficient and tasty. Not Michelin starred, but neither is the cost.
