"I wanted to like Areca this time. When I’ve stayed here in the past, the rooms were very outdated, the wifi connection was awful and the staff was cold. So when I learned that the hotel underwent a complete remodel of their rooms, I was ready to give Areca another try. Their location off Soi Diana is very convenient and their room rates are ideal at $50 usd per night with breakfast. Unfortunately, the remodeled room and the hallways to the rooms was not up to par. The artificial wood flooring has separated and instead of repairing the flooring, the Areca management elected to simply use duct tape to secure the flooring gaps together. And this wasn’t one or two pieces of tape. This is more like 20-30 pieces of tape down the hallways. The WiFi connected this time, but it was extremely slow. If you are traveling for work and require an internet connection, then I don’t recommend this hotel. If you are on a budget, but want a better than average hotel in a great location then Areca is the place for you."
