I had an excellent stay at l’hôtel Littéraire Gustave Flaubert in Rouen -we even extended it by several extra days! The location is central, with a great downtown feel and easy access to coffee shops, museums, and monuments.
The room was comfortable, with plenty of power outlets and good lighting. The hotel’s literary vibe, with books and reading zones, was incredible. Breakfast was great, with ample options including eggs, bakery items, cereal, jams, and beverages. However, we only had it once...
Hotel Cardinal was a perfect hotel for us. It is lovingly cared for by the owner who does the cleaning herself. The rooms are very nicely appointed and most have a direct view of the Rouen Cathedrale that cannot be beat. Breakfast offers a variety of fresh foods in a pretty little room with lovely stained glass windows. If we are ever in Rouen we would ONLY stay here!
There are people and places that are special. This is one of those places. Jacques has a talent for hosting. Clean,charming and well done it is the perfect place to stay. We can’t wait to return.
