The Hotel Jama is absolutely fabulous! Even though it was built in 1971, it is beautifully refurbished inside with elegant lounge areas and a lovely bar. Our room felt brand new - the whole hotel is even better than it looks on the website - and it looks pretty nice on there to begin with! The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, from the warm welcome at check-in and on departure to the staff in the restaurant at dinner. A buffet breakfast is included, so you definitely won’t go hungry. And...

We loved our stay here - however did not realize it was so far out of town. DO NOT book here unless you have a car, it is really difficult with public transportation. If you just want to relax at the hotel or hike nearby it would be fine, but if you want to go back & forth to Trieste, find another place or bring a car. Our host was very friendly and shared his experiences with Up With People (I encouraged him to do so) We arrived on Sunday - a day their restaurant is closed, so we ordered pizza...

The apartment itself was clean and spacious though we did experience difficulties with getting in the main door. There are three total codes that you need to access the apartment and one of the doors was very frustrating to open as it accepted the code (green light came on) but the door was stuck on multiple occasions. It sounds like they were planning to fix it, but added an element of stress to the experience. Good location and near transportation and water.
