The first thing I have to mention is the excellent staff. Every one of them was polite, attentive and helpful and communicated well in spite of the language barrier. I didn’t speak a word of French but they did their best to communicate in English and they did a great job. Garden and City has lots of common spaces to hang around after a hard day of hiking. L'Ardiden was an unexpected delight. It's perched above a river with great mountain views from the rooms and a small balcony. The room was plain, but clean and modern and the bathroom was quite clean and spacious. The location is near the thermal baths, a bit removed from Luz St. Sauveur; however, I preferred being away from the traffic in Luz. It's about a 10 minute walk into Luz. This is a great place to experience Luz, Gavarnie and other regional attractions.

This was a perfect room for our pilgrimage to Lourdes. We had a room with four twin sized beds for the two of us. It gave us lots of room to spread out our luggage from our multi-week travels. There is a closet with hangers and shelves for storage. The beds were very comfortable. We only wished we remembered to open the windows at night because the area was so beautiful.
