This is a super unique Property. Awesome Italian feel and looks. Very comfy rooms and bed. Suites have a living room, separate bedroom, large room with stand alone tub, and a spacious toilet room with shower. The grounds are immaculate and the views are spectacular. The only negative is the small choice of available food for lunch and dinner. The dinner menu is small and its the same every day. I wish they had a place to get some pizza and pasta. Wonderful, charming place to stay. Luigi, the proprietor, and his daughter, Rita (the Rita is her grandmother), are such wonderful people - you will love them and the great atmosphere at this beautifully appointed B&B/hotel. Walking distance to the archaeological site, which is one of the best you'll see. Features the Diver's Tomb, the only intact Greek tomb. Hooray for Villa Rita - a wonderful find!

Gorgeous villa with modern conveniences like a full size shower with rain shower head. Yummy full European breakfast. The hotel has ocean front balcony views and sits on a new and well lit promenade. The owners speak English in a village where few do. A fun stay in a nearly Italian only tourist village. Go!
The family and the animals are friendly and care for you well. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin so when someone sneezes in the next room it will wake you up. I was happy that most of the time I stayed here alone. There is a fantastic view of the hillside village Altavilla Silentina. I was glad to spend the two weeks driving around to learn more about the area as I was thinking about buying a home here, but the level of local poverty means it would be difficult to get services here. We booked the hotel because of it's proximity to the historic Paestum site. It was great for that and had a good breakfast to start the day off. It was clear that this hotel caters to wedding and honeymoon parties which we were not. However we were there in the off season so it served us well. The finishes are a little outdated but the hotel is nice and well kept. Only complaint is that the wireless service was spotty and unusable from the room. Had to go to the lobby to access it.
If you want a true Italian family experience then a stay at BnB La Mortella is the answer. We considered staying in Paestum to be close to the great temples but knowing that La Mortella was only 20 minutes away convinced us to try something different during our Italia tour. A pretty amazing place. Looks very luxurious, the restaurant and the meal was super fancy and yet very reasonably priced. We couldn’t understand why the place was mostly empty, but we stayed mid-week, and the place clearly caters to Italians (even the spa menu was only in Italian). The air-conditioning in the room was not very strong and very noisy, but otherwise very nice room.
Elia and his wife are great hosts. Place is 5+ stars with beautiful view and sunrise. Breakfast is organic and my wife is special thankful for their care for her diet restriction. We would come here whenever we are in this area.
