Hotels in Haytor Vale

Booked on a whim as we were in the area, the hotels surprised with its beautiful location and grounds, lovely public rooms, and friendly staff. Dinner very nice and we will return with our dogs next time. Some deferred maintenance is obvious on the exterior.

There is a guest book at the Rock Inn which dates back to 1903 and it chronicles the experiences of the people who vacationed there. After reading through it one has to agree that it is a special place. We had a lovely stay at the Rock Inn. Our room was cosy with a comfy bed. We booked our meals in because the food is superb and the service friendly and attentive. We look forward to going back.

This was my wife's first trip to Devon and she truly fell in love with this beautiful stately manor in Dartmoor. The hotel is charming, the staff extremely friendly and the food from breakfast to dinner was excellent. Being close to Christmas the ambience and Christmas decorations and trees added additional charm to an already charming locale. Walking around the estate is truly beautiful with a very quaint golf course on the property. We can't wait to come back and stay here again. They are busy...

Our stay at Gidleigh Park was extraordinary. I had never experienced the level of service offered or the professionalism of the staff. We felt welcomed and cared for as individuals. The meals were outstanding. I’m so glad I chose to stay there for part of our trip to England’s southwest, but every place after was a bit of a let down.

This was a beautiful property and the hosts were excellent. I highly recommend staying here if you are down in this part of Devon.

Excellent clean B&B really 5 star Room 3 was superb

Travelling for work and I had the place to myself due to the pandemic. Felt a bit guilty for putting out the owner, Michelle, just for me but she was very welcoming. I travel quite a bit for work and when you stay in an independent guest house, it can be a bit hit and miss, but I felt immediately comfortable here. The room was well appointed and spotlessly clean, the breakfast was good and they have a well stocked ‘honesty’ bar with reasonable prices. Recommend

Short stay to see Torquay, Peter recommended a great seafood restaurant. We visited some local attractions.

We loved the elevator down to harbor level, so we didn't have to climb up Terrace

Beautifully decorated, clean, convenient, friendly and helpful staff. Pet friendly, parking and elevator were big bonuses and rare for the area.

Good hotel, rooms are on the small side but well equipped. Shower was tight but worked well. Breakfast was fairly good, reasonable cereal choice, fruit choice was adequate. Cooked was variable, eggs tended to be overdone. Staff were great, nothing was too much. Hotel is up a stiff hill but about 10 minutes from the front

Historical location, with beautiful views. Well maintained and first class service. Looking forward to my next visit.
