This place deserves top marks. We stayed there three nights and were pleased with the staff, the physical condition of the buildings, the cleanliness and the price. We would definitely stay there again.
Interesting throwback to motor inns, but with updated amenities. The only thing I didn't like was the outdoor stairs. It rained during our visit and stairs required careful negotiation.
This hotel is a hidden gem! The room was so spacious, it was bigger than a lot of homes we have rented and was just perfect for what we needed! There is not an ocean view but it is just minutes from cannery row and the ocean. We needed a space big enough for a surprise trip for our mom where everyone had a bed and this place checked off all the boxes. We highly recommend this hotel, especially if you want more out of a hotel room than just 2 queen beds for multiple people.
The hotel is brand new, beautiful with updated fixtures. Love that we have microwave and refrigerator in the room. The live music was great, the hotel staff very friendly and informative. However, I don’t like that we got charged $15 for parking across from the hotel with no security or gate.
Can not say enough about this hotel. Great location, VERY clean, super nice, polite, respectful staff. Bed was comfy, LOVED the pillows, seriously we wanted to take them home. Settled for taking a pic of the label to buy on our own. Breakfast worked for both of us. My friend who is on a special diet and myself that can eat anything. Stores and In and Out very close.Cannery Row about 10 min away. I would stay here again any day!
Was a very clean room. Was centrally located around a lot of places in Monterey. Walking distance to the wharf. Dennis Then Menace Park across the street. Staff was good.
Pros: Great service; comfortable beds; clean rooms; great breakfast; nice pool and spa; fantastic playground across the street for kids; pretty quiet considering it’s a family and dog friendly hotel.
Cons:
The design and planning of the public access restroom in the lobby is positively awful. Needs a complete redesign with less PC artsy fluff and more utility for guests and their families. Very disappointed in Marriott for letting PC bologna get in the way of basic amenities.

Absolutely amazing! 10/10! From the moment I pulled into the parking lot to the moment we checked out, service was top tier, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and it was very quiet even with having kids stay in rooms around us. Thank you for everything!
Great walkable location. Quiet clean rooms. And most important honest staff with amazing integrity!! One person in our group lost $150 out of her pocket without realizing it. We returned from supper and the amazing evening staff person flagged her down and returned the cash. I am awed and humbled by the character demonstrated by this act of kindness. Just can’t say enough good things! We have stayed here several times and it’s always a great experience.
Took a road trip to Monterey during Spring Break. Enjoyed the friendliness and efficiency of the staff at the Best Western. Good breakfast...especially the hands off pancake maker I had never seen before. Easy access to Cannery Row, the aquarium and Fishermen's Wharf. Would definitely stay there again.
Excellent Stay at The Stevenson Monterey Hotel!
We had a wonderful stay at The Stevenson Monterey Hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The staff were courteous and attentive, and their excellent service made our stay even more enjoyable.

I liked everything about it. It was close to places we wanted to visit. The staff was very nice and polite and the breakfast was perfect to get you going in the morning.
The room was clean, had a cute fire place and was quiet. We traveled from Sacramento and checked in very late but they made it easy even though the office was closed. The staff was friendly. We walked cannery row to the aquarium and had a great time.
