Quality Inn Washington NC
8/10 Good
"I didn’t spend a lot of time on the property, but it was comfortable… the AC worked really well, it was clean, and it was quiet."
Clarion Pointe New Bern

"The hotel was clean and met our needs for a three night stay. Easy to access the room, safe and clean. The lady at the front desk was so kind and helpful! Very pleasant. The bed was comfortable and it was convenient to a lot around. Highly recommend!"

BridgePointe Hotel & Marina

"The room/bathroom was clean, as was the hotel itself. It is a bit outdated and the rugs and windows need updating. The rug was quite worn, but it was clean. It did smell a bit muggy in the hotel but it is next to the river and it was a humid summer. The pool is big and was highly enjoyed until a storm came up. The coffee was not great. The breakfast was OK, but the food area is pretty small while the area for seating was spacious. Nice view from the breakfast room. I did notice a small coffee maker in the room and coffee/tea that seemed to be available 24/7 although I didn't partake. It would be nice if they could provide water for guests (not hot water for tea--I've seen a filtered water faucet in the breakfast area in some hotels). There is a water for purchase option in the vending machine but we had to go to different floors to find any available. I've stayed in nicer hotels with better guest perks, but overall it was a good stay and I would consider it again."

"Convenient location on a beautiful spot on the waterfront. Easy walk to downtown shops and eateries. Very close to Persimmons on the waterfront which is a great spot to eat at. Clean and quiet room with wide hallways. The single elevator shaft was a misstep by whoever designed the place. The other negative was the old 32 inch TV. As a college football fan - that wasn’t good."

Magnolia House Bed & Breakfast
10/10 Excellent
"If you plan to visit Oriental, you must stay at Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast! The innkeepers are so friendly and accommodating. They greeted me as I arrived and took me on a tour of the house explaining the available amenities. The house has a wrap around porch, perfect for relaxing in the evening (I stayed in August and was surprised by the mild evening temperature). I had to leave early morning and typically do not eat breakfast so they had breakfast bars and fruit available for me to grab and go. They also have a coffee and tea bar available 24/7 with snacks, wine, and beer. The entire house was beautifully decorated and the beds were so comfortable that once my head hit the pillow, I didn’t wake up until my alarm went off. I stayed in the Roe Suite and web pictures do not do it justice. It’s a large suite with two entrances, one leading directly to the room that has the drinks and snacks (very convenient). The sitting area has a large comfortable couch, tv, and bookshelves filled with books. The bath, with tiled floors, full-length mirror, large double sink counter space, separate shower and large tub, is as large as the bedroom! And I have to mention the location, right in the middle of town, walking distance to the waterfront, shops, and restaurants, and a short distance to the grocery store. The innkeepers have thought of everything including a welcome gift with chocolates and a package of Magnolia House coffee. I will definitely return."
