Coming from the states with extensive travel experience, I can say that it is shocking to have a hotel where every feature feels like the main feature. The restaurants and bar are self sufficient - they do not seem to need the hotel to exist, very uncommon in my experience. In fact, it was clear that there were regular customers there, making me feel very at home. To that point, the staff was extremely courteous and informative of local events.
The Heritage is by all rights a 5 star, not a 4 star hotel. The rooms, property, and staff are all top notch! The only issues I encountered are beyond the control of the Heritage -- There are not enough taxis (I travelled to/from The Heritage by train) and if you are planning to use one, for instance, to make rail connections, plan well ahead and reserve a taxi if possible. The other thing that would be nice is if there were more dining options nearby -- But again, this is beyond the control...
Polite and accommodating staff. Grounds are absolutely beautiful for golfers or families, alike. 20 minutes away from Mullingar and 5 minutes from Tyrrellspass, with shopping, pubs, historical sites (Belvedere, Lake Ennell) nearby. Spacious rooms allow for plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some privacy. Close to all highways to get you where you need to go. Highly recommend for those looking for a taste of Ireland with modern amenities.
Wonderful quaint hotel. I was enjoying a beer after work and a Christmas party broke out. Santa, kid choir, snow outside, parents, grandparents were all enjoying the festivities.
I have nothing but good words to say about the Bloomfield staff. I needed to attend a funeral in Mullingar during one of the worst snow storms of the last hundred years.I stayed in the Bloomfield during this time and the staff were kind and attentive.I would particularly like to single out Orla and the lovely girl from Slovakia.
At one point. Orla (a Westmeath native) who is a very slight girl, marched up to me in the lobby, with shovel in hand, and said that she was ready to help me dig out...
Roomy comfortable, centrally located.
Free parking out back is a little difficult to find but convenient.
Best if all just walk down the stairs for a creamy pint.
Great hotel with great staff. Stayed at 5 hotels while in Ireland and this was the best. Not much to look at from the outside but very nice on the inside. Meals were very good and all staff were friendly and helpful. Loved this place!
We enjoyed walking around town and going in the shops. Everything was comfortable and convenient. My grandson really enjoyed the playground out back. He wanted to keep going back. The full Irish breakfast was really delicious! The service at breakfast was really good, but the Pub only had one waitress so the wait for the check was very long. All in all we would definitely go back again. Also we got there way before check-in time, but they went out of their way to get us in our room way early.
The hotel is beautiful. The staff is amazing! I cant say enough of how kind and friendly the staff is. They really made our stay great. The restaurant/bar for breakfast, lunch and dinner was fantastic, same great staff work there. Kate was fantastic.
