The monks were very friendly and helpful and everything was well coordinated so you knew what to expect. We really enjoyed our stay and wish to have been able to stay longer.

This was our first trip to Japan, ever, so we wanted to experience authentic and traditional Japanese hospitality, and what an amazing surprise we got. We rented the suite, which is the annex. You basically get an entire traditional japanese house, with a private onsen, all for yourself. From the moment you arrive to the ryokan, you get the warmest welcome you can imagine. All was excellent and we had a beautiful room. Food was very delicious

Very friendly staff at check in. Walkable from Wakayamashi station. The area is a fun little section of the city with a lot of character. Plenty of hole in the wall eateries and small bars. I found some live music clubs to check out right around the corner. There are a few shopping streets to walk that aren’t focused on tourism. Good local feel if you want to escape the tourist or business vibe.

Definitely accessible via train and walking, but I recommend taking a taxi from the station just because there’s not a lot of room for pedestrians. As far as the hotel goes, the staff are very kind and accommodating, there are several shops on the bottom floor, you’re able to purchase local goods at the front desk and there is an amazing kimono shop one block away called Aridayagofuku where you can buy very high-quality textiles, local jewelry, and seasonal kimono. Just a stay near the airport for an early departure. Early breakfast was possible! And good. And free shuttle at 6:30 am was perfect. Quiet. Nice. We’ll come again.

Convenient location, close to the train station, relative spacious room and delicious breakfast.

Very nice hotel with serenity. So many pine trees makes the atmosphere calming. Everything was clean and with all the necessary amenities. I lost a gold ring on checkout and I called back half an hour later. They were very quick in calling back and said they found it and I was able to get it back. Thank you for all the staff who helped.
