We stayed here for a week while visiting our daughter who lived nearby. The staff were friendly, and polite. No problem with communication even though I do not speak Japanese. I really enjoyed their breakfast buffet. The view of the mountains from the room can't be beat. I agree with one review that said the toilet in the reception is the best toilet I have been to in Japan, as crazy as that may sound. Highly recommend!

Relaxing family stay with fluffy snow falling outside. Clean rooms, nice beds, pleasant indoor and outdoor onsen, breakfast was very good. We played ping pong, but unfortunately the fireplace was never lit. We enjoyed walking around in the snow, and the nearby soba restaurant was so good we ate there twice. The nearby shrine is worth a visit, and the train station is only a short walk for those without a car. I would like to visit again!

We stayed one night here as a pit stop driving from Yamagata to Tokyo. We were traveling as a family of four with two young children so it was helpful that meals (dinner and breakfast) were included. We also stayed in one of the larger rooms (Room with Open Air Bath Type C) which was spacious. We liked that Maxvalu supermarket was nearby just in case we needed something last minute. I also liked the fact that they have a brewery and offer yoga class. However, the wifi was not the best and the...
