The Hotel Jama is absolutely fabulous! Even though it was built in 1971, it is beautifully refurbished inside with elegant lounge areas and a lovely bar. Our room felt brand new - the whole hotel is even better than it looks on the website - and it looks pretty nice on there to begin with! The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, from the warm welcome at check-in and on departure to the staff in the restaurant at dinner. Newly renovated , everything you may need including small kitchenette with dishes and cookware. However no need to cook as the restaurant has a chef who cooks delicious dinners in the restaurant eight there most nights. Breakfast also so good with fresh squeezed OJ and fresh eggs cooked to preference. Able to enjoy sights of Slovenia and Croatia from this home base.

We were unsure what time we would arrive, so opted not to reserve dinner, but were kindly accommodated when we arrived after our long drive.
The owners welcomed us warmly, and we enjoyed a gourmet 4 course menu for dinner.
The patio is a lovely place to relax, and the room was very clean and comfortable, with high-end fittings.
Highly recommend for a great meal and luxurious stay!
The staff at check in was great. the room was excellent. the casino was an added attraction for my cousin. The food could have been somewhat fresher; the waitstaff was a bit rough. We spoke english/spanish .. they did little to be supportive.
This is a truly magical part of the world. This is for those that want to have true connection with their travels. We are planning a return trip for a week to explore this region more.
We loved our stay here - however did not realize it was so far out of town. DO NOT book here unless you have a car, it is really difficult with public transportation. If you just want to relax at the hotel or hike nearby it would be fine, but if you want to go back & forth to Trieste, find another place or bring a car. Our host was very friendly and shared his experiences with Up With People (I encouraged him to do so) We arrived on Sunday - a day their restaurant is closed, so we ordered pizza...
