My husband, daughter (20), and I stayed at The Garage for 2 nights (April 30-May 2). This is one of my favorite places we have ever stayed! If you plan to stay overnight in south Iceland do not miss this gem. The location is close to all the sights and activities, but the Garage is so comfortable and charming you might not want to leave the property! Cool decor and design, large and comfortable room, great amenities, and a wonderful family that owns/operates the Garage makes this a unique spot....

Hotel Selja is in the perfect location to see and do so many things in Iceland! The rooms are very comfortable, clean and well designed. Lots of outlets, great waterfall shower which was very spacious, good wi-fi, very comfortable beds, black-out curtains to block out the midnight sun, and very beautiful surroundings. I am between providing a 4 star or 5 star review, but will tip it up to 5. It’s probably like a 4.25. Overall was one of our favorite stays in Iceland. The cottages are so unique, it was really fun to stay here and I’m so glad we did! I would totally recommend to anyone staying in the area. A few notes: 1. This is one of those hotels that you will want to stay forever. The location is unique, where you will have not matter which room an amazing view. I think the mountains views are the best! We loved our stay BUT the marketing photos and name of the hotel are very deceptive. You DO NOT get the horses coming to your cabin, there is a fence (electric) at least 20ft or more away from the cabins and the horses don’t come near you, you can see them afar from your cabin only. You can see Icelandic horses alllll over Iceland so this isn’t really a special experience. The staff helped us get away to our organised tours early by packing breakfast boxes for us to collect before the restaurant opened - really helpful. Hotel is 12kms from the local town, so if you don't want a full restaurant evening meal (provided on-site or at the neighboring farm) then you have to drive that 12kms each time.
