Delightful Old European Palace Hotel with beautiful premises and absolutely awesome staff and an awesome breakfast buffet and great traditional Portuguese cuisine - in one of Portugal’s most undiscovered but magnificent mountaineous area with stunning ancient stone villages out of medieval movie - I can only recommend you take a couple of days to come visit this area and stay at this beautiful hotel

I booked this hotel because we were looking for something affordable, quiet and near things we wanted to see and visit. This was the best surprise of our vacation. The room was modern and very comfortable. We booked a double on the top floor, and we're right at the end of the building so we had views out two sides. The linens were very nice; definitely a step above the typical large chain hotels. The staff are very willing to help and provide advice of things to do and see. The hotel is close to...

We stayed for a few days at the Convento da Serta Hotel. This was our first time to Serta and we didn't know what to expect of the region. We were very pleasantly surprised by a beautifully renovated hotel, which offers all the modern amenities and features while preserving the architectural details of the original convent. We stayed in one of the historical rooms, belonging to the convent. The room was spacious and clean, with its own temperature control and fully renovated bathroom, and...

Wonderful, quiet location away from the regular tourist track. Awesome property with big rooms, great pool, and really wonderful "surprise dinners" made by their chef. The meals here were probably some of the best meals we had in Portugal during our two week trip. The drink and wine selection was also superb! Location was in a small village with no services - but it was short drive to bigger village with everything anyone might need; and close to hiking trails in the forest, waterfalls, and the...
