We stayed here for our 28th Wedding Anniversary - and this was our first visit back since we had our wedding reception there!
On arrival we were upgraded to the bridal suite - where we had stayed all those years before. It was a fantastic gesture and we had a wonderful stay.

Apart from cleanliness, comfort, location and all of the others terms describing a hotel room, for me there is one essential factor, namely friendly welcoming staff. This is a quaint country pub/hotel/restaurant with all that and more. A personalised breakfast offering that beckons you to come back for your evening meal.. a delightful experience. I would have liked to receive a warmer welcome from the person who checked us in.
Asked if we could get a coffee from the machine which was in the breakfast area but was asked to get cups from our room I found this rude and surprising, the person did not want the cups in the breakfast room to be used due to breakfast time in the morning
The owner is warm, welcoming and delightful to talk with. She really made our stay. The rooms are fun - each with its own theme. Our room was comfortable and quiet, even though it faced the main road. The location is great - easy to walk or take a bus to all places of interest.
The room we had (17) was excellent. We thought it may have been a little childish for our 14 year old but it was great fun. The view is great from here if you go for the fireworks too. There is no option for evening meals or breakfast but the town is only down the hill. Will definitely be going back.
