We loved our stay in Gdansk at the Podewils. It is slightly out of the main historic district, and hence very quiet, although the main district is available with a 5 minute walk. The staff and ownership of the hotel and restaurant are very friendly and eager to help in all ways. The breakfast was excellent, with cooked eggs and bacon available in addition to a complete buffet. This is a classically styled hotel in an older building. I will be back here every time we come to Gdansk. The room was beautifully decorated, well designed, had everything you could want. We stayed in a suite in the oldest part of the building with a skeleton key to open the door! Original wood, beautiful plaster details, comfortable bed. The sauna is free to guests and is spacious and never crowded. Their breakfast is amazing and the service was really tailored. About a 15 minute walk to old town.

Parking was an issue and FreeNow driver had hard time finding the hotel. I ended up leaving my car in another area of town and used taxi to get in.

To go to this hotel from the airport, you have to take a bus number 110 heading to Galeria Baltika. Once you are there, you have to take tram number 12 and get out in Uniwersatet Medyczny. Is less than five minutes walking. Perhaps the only thing against the location is that it should be bigger announcement...
