"Overall experience was great! Food was good, atmosphere is great. Most of the staff was excellent….few grumpy ones, but they were few and far between.
Only a few small issues: The room was not clean by 5pm on 4 of the 6 days, so most days it never got cleaned bc we needed to start getting ready for our dinner reservations.
Also, allowing people to throw footballs and other balls all around the pools was a big issue for us. It is distracting and inconsiderate to other guests. My Gf was struck in the face w a football; thrown by a 17 year old boy playing catch with his Dad. They were throwing the ball from one end of the pool to the other. This could have easily broken her nose or injured someone else. This policy seems questionable at best and I was very surprised this was allowed at a resort of this caliber.
Other than that, I would highly recommend Baha Mar!"
"The property has seen better days. When we first arrived there were hundreds of teenagers everywhere and other guests said they were there since Tuesday (we arrived Friday). Another guest said they were not allowed to bring their 15 yo child because it was adults only. Thank goodness they left so that made it more acceptable. The beach had a lot of seaweed but tge water was pretty. The restaurant meals were better than the buffets for the most part but I have had better. The drinks were very strong and was a bad thing for me lol. We walked to the nearby Baha Mar casino but didn't venture downtown or do any excursions. Other guests said it was safe though. Overall it was a good trip."
"Hotel is centrally located near the city and cruise ship port which is a good/bad thing. Fun to watch the ships and easy to walk to things but can get crowded and loud. We stayed at the residences next to the hotel proper which was nice because we had a full apartment with 1 1/2 baths and could go out the ‘back door’ to the neighboring beach when our beach was crowded with day trippers from the ships. The water park attracts families of course so we avoided the area until later in the day when it was quieter. Unfortunately my (grown) daughter broke her foot using the pink water slide because the pool water is only 3 ft deep where it lets out and her foot hit the bottom very hard. She is a very average size person. We filed an incident report and while the staff was nice enough no one really seemed to care. About this or anything else really. She will have to take a LOA from work now. The housekeeping was so so and while our room wasn’t dirty it felt like it needed a thorough cleaning. The beds were way too soft and air conditioning varied between freezing and waking up in a sweat at the same temperature. The restaurant served a decent variety of food at reasonable enough prices and the hamburger was good. The ‘arcade’ is across the street from the hotel so children would need to be escorted i would suggest. Overall, it was an okay place to stay."

8/10 Good
"Great place to stay and a lovely property. Not easy to make or get reservations at the restaurants, that was aggravation we didn't want or need on our vacation. Be careful with the band they put on your wrist because my husbands came off when snorkeling and they were strict with the $200 dollar replacement band cost, which was not something we planned on or happy about. I had pictures before and after snorkeling of wrist but they wouldn't budge. All staff in the restaurants and bars were fabulous! The guards on the beach were very hard working and great pulling chairs down for all the guests."
"The natural setting is beautiful. But for >> 1000/night, this experience is WAY below expectations. The staff is not helpful nor present. Certain places were not clean. The wireless does not work. When we asked for help with the thermostat because it was set to 65 degrees, they said the only option is to shut it off and have no AC. You pay 28 dollars for a salad of just leaves and 4 tomatoes or 17 dollars for tortilla chips and salsa. The worst part is the hours. The pool may open at 8 am but not really and you’ll get yelled at if you. Some people will tell you it closes at 5 although other nights people are swimming at 7. The hours at everything are limited. Staff is never warm or helpful. We waited for a towel at the pool and the after 30 minutes went to go find one. When my husband asked a staff member, can we take these towels, we were scolded to sit have someone come to you! I’m from nyc and I realize the cost of hotels/hospitality but the truth in there are hundreds of other places/hotels that would give you way more for the money."
"Bring your wallet! $1000 hold placed on credit card for incidentals and they are completely cashless. Don’t get much sleep because the first night the dishwasher beeped all night and had to call the front desk. The next night had to call again because the sprinkler was vibrating so loudly that it woke us up. It could be heard when my husband called the front desk. The response was swift but it was distracting. Overall, it was a nice resort and we enjoyed ourselves."
