"Gattini bills itself as a 5 star hotel. My partner and I would not normally pay the extra amount that that 5th star seems to require, but we were desperate to have a refuge from the August heat in Matera at the end of the day … and staying at Gattini was a great decision. It really is quite wonderful and didn’t seem so expensive once we experienced all the good things that Gattini offered. The breakfast was the best we had in 51 days of travel in Spain Portugal and then Italy. Our thanks to the great staff for a great experience in Matera."

"Great location in old town Matera! There are some stairs to get to the property, but the staff was very helpful in carrying our luggage for us. The room was large/comfortable for our family of 4 and the breakfast was delicious. Definitely would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Matera!"

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely polite, friendly, and always willing to help, making me feel welcome throughout my visit. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, with a great variety of delicious options to choose from.
