My wife and I stayed at this pleasant BnB in May for 2 nights. It is recently remodeled, including the bathroom. It is smack-dab in the middle of the old town of Castellaneta and it is extremely convenient for visiting the Rudolph Valentino museum. Everything was very clean! The owners thought of everything. The rooms were very comfortable. Parking on site was great. We were offered breakfast for a small fee and it was very good.
There are even espresso machines in the rooms!

Easy to drive into town.
Nice, small B&B right outside the bustle of old town Matera on a more residential area. The rooms were clean and roomy (by European standards) and the continental breakfast was always ready for us in the morning. It was about a 5 minute walk to old town and sightseeing, where there were an abundance of restaurants to choose from.

You cannot drive directly to the hotel. Parking is a short distance away and you must walk to the hotel on cobblestone streets with your luggage, but this is not too difficult and true of many places in central Matera.
Beautiful room in a cave with independent entrance. Touristic but also quiet location. The access is a bit complicated if carrying bags. Great service and breakfast in the room. I would recommend to friends and family.
Parking was excelent. Location could no have been better just in the outskirts of the old City. Staff was very kind and helpful both at checkin and giving instructions for tours and food. Room was very well kept

Hotel first: Basiiani Hotel is a marvel in a town once called the 'Shame of Italy'. It is a hotel that is comprised of several rooms carved into caves that used to be people's homes. It is awesome. The decor, beds, bathroom and amenities all top notch. The staff friendly and the buffet breakfast was great. Highly recommended. Now the town of Matera.... you must go. Truly out of this world and worth every adjective of beauty.

Just by points to cover the basics: The hotel is literally 5 minutes via taxi from Taranto's central train station, or 10 Euros. Una hotels I love. Clean and updated. Parking free and easy. Staff amazing. This hotel had a restaurant and bar which was nice. Outside the old city but easy to get there by car. Not close to restaurants or shopping but nice for easy access.
This agriturismo is located not far from Bari, Matera and Alberobello. It is definitely out in the country and the nearest town with services is a couple miles away. But it was quiet and nice to relax before ending my trip. The owners were very nice and made sure I had breakfast before my very early departure.
