This is a very new hotel with a good view of the sea. Its location near Mt. Etna is excellent. Staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable. There are some good places to eat within easy walking distance.

We booked a room in the Rock annex. It was an entire, fully equipped apartment. The Rock annex is located across the street and down about one block from the main hotel. To be honest, other than doing the initial checkin and a walk around, we never went to the main hotel building. The pool is located there and there is a small bar. The location is absolutely beautiful. The staff are friendly and so helpful, going out of their way to accommodate. We experienced equivalent hospitality across every staff, from reception to bell boy to bar lobby (Fabio and Frederica!) to espresso maker to housekeeping and the lifeguard! We loved the Santa Caterina hotel, and would highly recommend it to anyone, families, couples, singles. It is in a great location to visit many of the beautiful towns surrounding it, Etna, and Catania. Acireale is Baroque as is much of this part of Italy and very close to the Isole Ciclope of Odyssey fame. Fabulous area, great food, local life.
