This was a REAL CASTLE, two of walls were from 1425..AMAZING. We were able to walk around and enjoy the beautiful grouds (there was even a tennis court on sight!) And lots of beautiful flowers and trees. The location is somewhat remote, and very quiet. But you can almost imagine it hundreds of years ago. That said, the guest rooms were of good size, very clean and modern. One of our favorite places we stayed in southern Ireland. I do not believe there was a lift/elevator, which did not matter...
Great value at this hotel. Large parking garage under the hotel. Free if you stay at the hotel. Get the breakfast included in the rate too. The breakfast was good. Many items to choose from- the usual continental breakfast. The beds are firm. Sea view is the best view of the town and churches and the sea too. Walking distance to pubs and nightlife. We went to Maggie Mays for live music. Old Granary for dinner. We will return here one day.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. They explained the parking rules so we knew our best options. We will stay here again. Bar manager/owner came around to make sure all was going well for us and was very helpful too.
My girlfriend and I had the most amazing stay here. Pauline is the best host and a fantastic cook. She would always go out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and would always respond to any questions we had promptly. Breakfast was always served on time and I wish I had more room in my stomach to eat more. Everything was clean and well kept. The bed was beyond comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and clean. The bathtub was great for the end of the night for winding down. The bathrobes...
A absolutely beautiful place to stay. The house, room and everything is impeccable as pictured. Edna was our host and he is the greatest person. Breakfast was amazing as well. Definitely a great place spend some quality time.
Other than missing our 8:00 meal because of late ferry and arriving at 12:00am instead of 6:00 pm
They were up and get us to the room and was very pleasant even at that hour and the breakfast was really lovely the next morning! Beautiful place highly recommended!!
Great little locally owned place. The food was good. The pub was great. Friendly locals gathered as well as fellow travelers. Had a great time and really enjoyed staying at the hotel so much, we decided to stay another night.
The staff was also very accommodating where they could be, although we did have a few issues. We had some trouble with no heat in our room the first night. The staff was quick to respond to turn it on that evening; however, it didn't get/stay on, so it never warmed up, and...
It was wonderful to be in Ireland again and at this wonderful Hotel. Staff, food & rooms were the best! Even the dinner we had for our Irish cousins in the BAR area was great service and we all enjoyed. Please let all your staff know how great they were. Very Clean & relaxing.
