Ruhondo Beach Resort is a beautiful place that requires a boat ride to get to. I stayed in an Executive Tent, which had a queen size mattress, light, electrical plug, and WiFi. The lake is a beautiful setting with many water birds, and spectacular views of the volcanoes!
The property is well maintained and conveniently located just a short walk from the Musanze bus terminal. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The food prepared by the guest house cook was excellent! Our only concern was the lack of hot water in the shower, but that may have been due to the fact that we didn't know to plug in the water heater.
This was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. The staff was unmatched, so friendly and kind. The food was delicious and so well curated. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE MORE! Completely stunning both the place and the people!
Amazing service, charming rooms, fantastic food. I went there after a gorilla trek and before hiking up Bisoke and they were fantastic. They helped arrange transport as well. Will absolutely be staying here again if I'm back in Musanze.
We were only here for one night, but Frances was a great host. The room as clean and comfortable, and he provided a good breakfast. We opted not to go to Volcanoes National Park, but Frances provided us with a great guide, who took us to Twin Lakes. On that trip we met MANY wonderful Rwandans out in the countryside, and saw beautiful scenery. The next morning our guide, Janvier, took us to the park where the baby gorilla naming ceremony is held, then out into the countryside again. FANTASTIC!
I’d stay here again in a heartbeat, especially if you’re coming to Rwanda for gorilla trekking. The staff were truly outstanding and went above and beyond throughout my entire stay. Everyone was incredibly warm, helpful, flexible, and genuinely focused on making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed.

We had such a great time here! Property felt safe and welcoming. Everything was very clean. Beds were comfortable and water was hot for a few minutes.
