The Burlington Hotel
8/10 Good
"We went for the airbourne weekend and the room we booked was extremely comfortable. It was a superior room and had a view over the beach and the sea. Perfect for watching the aeroplanes if we got fed up with the crowds on the beach. The room was very clean on arrival and all the staff we spoke to were extremely helpful. The breakfast is a normal buffet affair and totally acceptable. There are plenty of superb eateries within walking distance as well with cuisines from around the world. The hotel itself is I assume pretty old and as most hotels could do with a little tlc in some respects. Only one of the 2 lifts were working for our entire stay ( the tiniest lift I have ever seen) but I'm sure this will be fixed reasonably soon. So we used the stairs to come down from level 3 and the lift to go up as we aren't very fit. Also be aware that there are no fridges in the room which on a very hot summer stay is a bit of a problem but any other time of year would not be a problem at all. We had temperatures of 30+ degrees for 4 days and survived with a cool box and ice from the local shops. Overall I would recommend a stay here if you want a beachfront hotel. This was our 2nd stay so it must be ok. There is hotel parking out the back which is very busy during the airshow weekend but at £6 a day it's a bargain in these expensive times. It's probably less busy the rest of the year but I'm only guessing. If you like a beach and the pier holiday then you'll like this hotel."

"lovely building.Large spacious room, clean comfortable bed. close to all amenities. good view from balcony staff helpful highly recommended"
The Cumberland Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The Cumberland is a great little hotel, we stayed two night for the air show and we had a brilliant time. The rooms were clean and well maintained, we had a partial sea view room which was really nice and an inland accessible room which was spacious with twin beds which worked well for us. The staff were really friendly and extremely helpful. I contacted them before arriving to make sure that they were okay accommodating my dad electric wheelchair. We had a slight issue with the WiFi and internet in general coz it was the air show and it was very busy. The Cumberland is a great place to stay and watch the airshow from as it is right on beach in the middle of the all the action. I would definitely recommend The Cumberland to watch the airshow from. Love forward to seeing you again Cumberland."
The Grand Hotel Eastbourne
8/10 Good
"Returned again for another stay during the airbourne, unfortunately this time we noticed a few minor problems. The gentlemen out front of the hotel and stefan (from the resturant) were so helpful and welcoming! A few things we noticed during our stay this time, we came back to our room one evening towels had been taken however no new towels were left , I rung straight down stairs and they said someone would bring them up however we needed to get ready for dinner and no one brought these up , I had to then ask at reception after dinner and re ask for some towels to be left, also in the process of them removing the towels they took by mistake my microfibre hair towel which I didn’t get back. The day time we had lunch every day in the hotel however I appreciate it’s busy and there may not be enough staff but we was left way to long in between and having to keep trying to get some ones attention in which everything we order had a service charge on which in the day time I don’t think this should be the case. One evening we got to the bar just as last orders had been taken the lady behind the bar was very friendly and said she would quickly serve us , my partner and brother sat down on the chairs behind while she was making our drinks and some young man who was a worker came into the bar and said to them we’re closed you cant sit here , which we appreciate the bar was closed however I was clearly waiting for the drinks and it’s the way he said it was very rude."

The Chatsworth Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We loved our room - Junior Suite with the biggest ever bed and fabulous view from the window overlooking the sea, with the pier to the left and the bandstand to the right. Sitting at the window became my "happy place" for our three days! The Jacuzzi bath was a nice touch but we should have asked Reception for a suction handle for the wall as there was nothing for my husband to hold onto in order to stand up and get out. The breakfasts were excellent with a good choice of hot meals cooked fresh to order. Personally I would have liked more choice of fruit but the fresh fruit on offer was adequate. The free glass of wine in the piano bar on the first night was a nice touch and we were delighted to be entertained on the piano all three nights by Annie, singing and playing (she has a beautiful voice), and Alan with his stunning playing of Jazz and Blues etc. The staff were most helpful. Thank you Chatsworth Hotel for a very enjoyable stay."

"Wonderful front desk! Enjoyed a lovely dinner and drinks on the back patio."
Royal Wells Hotel
8/10 Good
"A very nice hotel with some very nice touches such as nice soaps, towels and an excellent cooked to order breakfast. Didn’t use the bar but it had a nice selection of beers in a comfortable environment. Rooms appear to be slightly dated and no air conditioning but a fan is provided, overall an enjoyable comfortable stay and I recommend it."
