"Bedroom was spotless, bathroom too. We had family room which had 1 x double and 2 single beds. All comfy, with spare pillows and blankets available in room. Plenty towels for each of us and non slip shower mat available in bathroom. All staff we encountered at reception and breakfast were lovely and very helpful. Great breakfast, choice of cereals, porridge, juice, and cooked options, tea and coffee. It's not fancy, it is a good price for what you get and I'd be happy to stay here again."

"Lovely family 2 night stay. Free parking. The pool , jacuzzi,sauna,gym were good. Rooms a bit cold, but portable radiators were provided. If you book dinner, bed and breakfast you are restricted to a separate 3 course menu, with no option to choose from other menu without being charged. A better idea would be allowance from normal menu. All in all a good stay with good staff."

"Don’t think twice … Book here right away. The stairs are a little old, however that is part of the charm. And they offer to carry your bags up. This was by far my favorite place to stay in Scotland. "Nice, large room with a soft, comfortable bed. Good amenities, large bathroom with tub and shower. Fabulous shampoo and body wash! TV wasn't good though, pixelated on most channels. Poor reception. We had dinner and breakfast there. Both highly recommended, tasty, lots of options, delicious. Staff are marvelous! Always pleasant and helpful, despite being short staffed, they worked hard and made our visit very enjoyable! Recommended hotel and restaurant!"

"I stayed in a room rather than one of the lodges, and the room was lovely, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. It's worth noting its on the very edge of the town, around a 15-minute walk from the centre of Ballater. My only disappointment was that the rooms are not serviced daily unless you are staying for a longer period, which wasn't explained at check-in. It was a little frustrating to return after a long day out to find the room hadn't been serviced, as that's one of the things I most enjoy about staying in a hotel. However, once I queried this, the staff explained the policy and provided fresh towels when I asked. It certainly didn't ruin my stay. Overall, this is a lovely hotel with comfortable accommodation, friendly service, and I would happily stay here again."
