The clock tower was added in 1898 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria the year previously. "It was one of many visits to the Strand and Covent Garden, and the hotel always is a great consistent standard. The staff are always helpful, the room excellent and the breakfast great. It was busy but there are other times people can go to breakfast than between 9am and 9:30am. "
