For our 4 nights in Cornwall we stayed at a very quaint Bed and Breakfast in Truro. Centrally located, it was a great place to stay and "wagon wheel" our day trips. From there, relatively speaking (by Texas standards) you can easily drive to many towns, fishing villages, beaches and other sites. We visited, Port Isaac, Tintagel, St Ives, Penzance, Land's End, Porthcurno and Minack Theatre. This property was simply wonderful. The owners were kind and helpful, the room was gorgeous, the location was close to everything you want to see in Newquay and transport, and the breakfast was excellent.

The cobblestone parking was slightly challenging, and we weren’t expecting to be in a separate building from the inn, but the room was very comfortable and the large window had a great view which brightened up the space. The location was perfect, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. We appreciated that breakfast was included.
Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Even though it is on a main road, the double glazing kept out all noise making it very quiet at night. Breakfast menu is excellent, dinner menu likewise and the bar has an excellent choice of local ales and cider. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this inn
What a fantastic hotel. I have walked past this hotel on holidays to Cornwall most of my life but this was the first time I actually stayed in a hotel in the local area. I am pleased I picked the Carlyon Bay Hotel.
Not only does the hotel seem to beam old world charm, it is the epitome of a classy environment with staff that will do anything to make your stay more comfortable and are a pleasure to deal with.

Margaret and Owen were very gracious hosts. The breakfast was wonderful. The location of the hotel is very close to the beach and the central shopping area. Our room was beautifully decorated and had an outstanding view of the water. Owen recommended a couple of local restaurants that we really enjoyed. The hospitality was above and beyond our expectations!
I don't write many reviews, we have stayed in hotels non stop for 4 months and this is my 2nd review. I only write them if it is unusually good or bad. This was a great hotel. Yes, it's in a pub, but it felt more like a B &B. Comfortable and quiet and spacious.
The hotel is in a great spot with beautiful views around the property. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. Joseph and Holly, in particular, were very pleasant, helpful, and interesting to talk with.
Comfortable large bedroom. Dinner at restaurant was comparable to any fine dining but in a relaxed atmosphere. The only drawback was the lack of an experienced bar staff.
