A spectacular hotel! Charming, newly decorated, very clean and great service. The restaurant area was great too. We weren't expecting this and just booked it as a layover on a roadtrip - but would visit here again!
The room was very spacious and we enjoyed our stay but when asked if they had a refrigerator they said No. we had some food that needed refrigeration and they didn’t even have a small portable fridge that we could rent. As a result we had to throw our food away.
The staff didn’t seem terribly interested in trying to help us or find workarounds which was disappointing. There was also no air conditioning and we had to open the window to let cool air in but this also result in some street noise...
The Stirk House is an absolutely beauty. It’s located in a picturesque setting surrounded by fields and sheep. If you want a low key, peaceful country setting with an amazing staff and restaurant, you found it! We loved staying here and definitely plan to come back. Lots of room to roam, walking paths and countryside roads to explore. Also, plenty of free parking was very nice. 10 / 10
My 3-night stay in January was nothing short of wonderful. My room was extremely well appointed and comfortable, with a lovely bathroom. The restaurant food was excellent both for breakfast and dinner and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Great property, reasonably priced, comfortable and clean room. Kitchenette was great and the bathroom was lovely. I found the bed to be incredibly comfortable.
Breakfast buffet was great, plenty of choices, and allergens were labeled for all items; separate space for gluten-free items.
Laundry room was good, small washers & dryers that were serviceable and free for guests (byo detergent), and much appreciated.
Staff were all polite, helpful, and seemed genuinely pleasant.
