We stayed at The Raeburn for one night on a recent trip to Edinburgh but wish we could have stayed a few more! The room was huge with lovely woodwork and a marble bathroom (the fixtures were top-notch with a huge tub, huge shower, double sink, and towel warmer). Our king-sized bed was very comfortable and there was also a large flat-screen TV. The elevator made it easy to get to our room and there was parking on-site. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us champagne to help us...
The staff was very helpful! Could leave luggage early and it was delivered to our room. Clearly the Dog House was about making everyone comfortable. The free beer for using towels more than once was fun... Never heard one bit of sound from the bar area! Oh and so close to everything if you are walking and using the trains!
Enjoyed our stay here. Room was a great size with comfortable beds. Location is excellent: 5 min walk to the castle, and around a variety of shops and restaurants and a very safe area. Staff was helpful and friendly.
The only “con” is parking for the hotel, which is about a 15 min walk away, so can be challenging if driving.
Staff all very good. I had a problem with the toilet seat and they fixed it during the day while I was out. Food and drinks service good. No noise in my room from the wedding party. Only issue for me was the room window was very small and high up in the wall, so I couldn’t see out, and the sky light had no covering, so being Scotland, I had daylight from 5:30am waking me up. Not the worst problem in the world. Wonderful park like location, and again, all the staff were wonderful.

This is a wonderful hotel. We will definitely stay here on future trips. The location is ideal and the employees so responsive. Then beds were super comfortable, I just wish they offered a top sheet in addition to the duvet for the weird Americans that are used to that. I'm sure we could have asked for one. Check in was smooth. No lift but successful in lugging 30+kg. suitcase up & down 3 flights of stairs. Room was impeccably clean. Room safe was difficult to access due to its position on floor of closet and tendency to entrap tiny objects in door which forced me to call for help. We’ll maintained, the pool and saunas were fantastic! Highly recommend as it’s walkable and very convenient to all locations downtown. Tge bar was also excellent!!
Great hotel and location. Staff is excellent. I chose not to eat at the hotel or use the bar as local establishments offer better variety at more reasonable cost. There are no hotel vending machines or means of purchasing snacks. Again, one can use local means outside the hotel.
The space was unuque and beautiful. Definite old world charm. The staff was helpful with suggestions, and friendly. The common spaces were very nice. I would say the room is good for sleeping, but just be aware they are very tiny rooms. It was exactly what we needed, but if I wanted to stay at a place where I'd be in my room a lot I would probably choose something else. But since my room was just for sleeping I would stay here again because I liked all the other spaces.
Great location close enough to Grassmarket, Victoria St and the castle. Also close to where most tours depart. I chose the full breakfast option in the room rate and it was very good and worth it. Staff was courteous and helpful. Twin beds room was basic but clean and quiet. Stayed in the 4th floor but hotel does have an elevator. Would stay here again if we ever go back to Edinburgh. 30 min walking from bus station. Very good option for the price.
