Kelham Island
Kelham Island blends industrial heritage with creative energy in Sheffield's coolest district. The Kelham Island Museum showcases the city's steel-making past, while converted warehouses now house buzzing art galleries and craft breweries. Wander cobblestone streets past red-brick buildings to discover the popular Peddler Market where local vendors serve up delicious street food and artisanal goods. Boutique hotels in industrial-chic buildings offer stylish places to stay, with mid-range pricing. The area connects easily to Sheffield's center via regular tram and bus services. This walkable neighborhood follows the winding River Don, where waterside paths provide peaceful breaks from the artistic buzz.

Neepsend

The River Don provides peaceful walking paths perfect for escaping the industrial-chic vibe. Getting around is mostly on foot with limited public transport, though buses connect to Sheffield's center in about 15 minutes. Accommodation leans toward industrial-style lofts and guesthouses run by locals who know all the neighborhood secrets. The craft beer scene dominates the dining options with taprooms serving elevated pub fare until around 10pm.

"Things I didn’t like Headboard quite worn which was a bit off putting. Toilet didn’t flush properly but a small bucket was provided. Toiletries were a bit hot and miss (and mix) Clearly a lot of effort goes into the hotel and the staff are really good as was breakfast. There is a large car park right outside the hotel with an overflow which is great."

"Staff were friendly & helpful. Room was clean."
Sandman Signature Sheffield Quays Hotel
"I think the value for money was excellent. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. The only complaint with the room was the lighting being too dark, albeit a very modern lighting setup. However, I have to state as someone allergic to Gluten, the hotel and restaurant have absolutely ZERO ability to deal with this and therefore neither dinner nor breakfast was an option."

"Great hotel but it clearly needs a refurb now. The rooms are nice but the decor a bit old fashioned and showing signs of a lot of wear and tear. The corridors and panelling are chipped and bashed and the pool area and sauna etc missing tiles. It’s in a great location and the rooms and bathrooms are a great size and the mattress really comfy. Staff are really helpful and the onsite bar and restaurant are really nice. As I say, just needs a refurb to bring it up to speed."
