"All good and what you pay for but you can’t beat the views and it is so convenient. All clean. All the basics what you need and so thankful they accept dogs. It’s our favourite stop off for visiting north Scotland"

"This stay was a sleepover stop on a journey north. I arrived at 21:00 and left at 07:30. It is part of a motorway service area so I would not stay here for any other reason. It did provide a good night's sleep and the room was comfortable. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast, if taken, would be at the adjoining service centre facilities, not at the hotel. This did not appeal to me and I went without. It was worth the price I paid I would say and I would stop there again."

"I got a lovely friendly welcome on my arrival. All of the staff I met were lovely. I ate in the bar and the food was excellent. As was the breakfast. My room was comfortable and I slept well. It was very clean. Visitors should know that as this is an old building there are a few stairs. Location is ideal for exploring the town on foot."

"Beautiful & impressive stately hotel in lovely surroundings , with well-appointed & well-furnished rooms. Got a very friendly welcome, and had requested a room with a view , if possible - and happily got one over looking the rolling countryside towards the Solway Firth. Breakfast was delicious, staff were very attentive, and meal set us up for our journey into the Lake District."

"The rooms were clean but cobwebs everywhere and could use a deep clean . Beds could have better mattresses and the cooker needs new dials that don't fall off . Apart from those little details it's in an ideal location for Moffat and Dumfries . It is on a caravan and camping site which our friends in another cabin were quite disappointed in as they assumed it was a bit more rural . Little additions like tea coffee sugar , cleaning products etc were much appreciated though . Hot tub was very clean and well maintained and a lovely patio area to relax afterwards . Thee was mould on the first bedroom curtains and around the window which could be quite easily dealt with . All in all not too bad for the cost ."
