This is a gorgeous manor house in the heart of the Dordogne Valley next to the river. The views are spectacular and the gardens are beautiful. Be sure to get the breakfast because it is a feast of local flavors. Wonderful hosts who can make excellent dining recommendations. Worth the money for a once in a lifetime experience.
We spent 4 nights at the lovely Petit Manoir in the Josephine Baker room. The facilities were great, large bedroom and bath, lots of storage room for clothes, location couldn’t be beat, and historic ambiance was everywhere. For disabled or elderly, I would not recommend it bc you have to walk up a large wooden spiral staircase (yes there is a railing, but a bit tricky for those whose balance is a little off). We had a lovely stay. Our room was great and the staff, especially the afternoon reception clerk was wonderful. Not only did she acclimate us to the hotel, she helped carry our bags, and she helped plan the things we did while we were in the area. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was super. Highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful stay at La Sarlamandre. Our hosts, Stéphy and Séb were so kind and welcoming from the start. The rooms are very clean and feel brand new.
Breakfast was delicious with homemade jams and cake.
Everything was so perfect and their attention to detail made our stay so comfortable. We really felt at home. We were so sad to leave and wish we could’ve stayed longer! Merci beaucoup!
