Evening staff were the best ! Very helpful and accommodating. Daytime staff were very busy with hotel chores and sometimes seemed inattentive. However, I still recommend this hotel for its ambience, kind staff, and lovely rooms. Everyone was friendly and kind.

I loved La Chaize Hotel. It was perfect for what i needed. The gentleman who checked me in gave me the best advice for hiking (more like walking) and biking. He also recommended great restaurants close by. Be sure to ask if you don’t get recommendations as i noticed that some of the staff did not provide any advices to some other guests. I rented an electric bike from the hotel which was perfect for biking all around the island. Be sure to drive or bike through the Passage du Gois at low tide....
At first sight the staff seem to be a bit too formal but along the way it turns out to be a château whith a very laid back loose staff that do care about hospitality. The sauna is a bit outdated but over all this is a brilliant lush to stay for two or three nights.
The property is in a great location. It's right across the square from the train station and there are many restaurants and shops nearby. It's easy walking distance to the beach and to the outdoor market that takes place on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. The property is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Sylvie is wonderful! She helped me with rescheduling my hotel in Paris after I couldn't get a train on the day I was supposed to leave. She really went above and beyond to help...
This is one of those places you land upon by some stroke of luck. We would go back in a heart beat and wished we'd had more time (and better weather) with which to enjoy the location.
