We loved this place from the moment we arrived. We were shown to our room which was comfortable and clean, small and simple. We threw open the shutters and windows to catch the cool breeze and sunset. We took a quick swim as the last rays of warm sun shone. The Hotel Rotonde has excellent front desk staff, especially Emma and Natalie. They were always kind and helpful to since we don’t speak French. They were able to clear up a double reservation for us and switch one of them to our friends who were unable to stay at the B&B they booked.
The hotel owner was so accommodating and kind—great with corresponding. The option to purchase parking in the nearby garage was easy and I’m glad I did it, as I arrived in the evening and street parking wasn’t readily available. The garage is a little tricky to understand navigating in it (one set of steps is odd floors, the other even floors), but I was given good directions (and a map!) for the area when it came time to walk back home. The room was gorgeous and very historic. Website said the property has an elevator, which isn’t true for some parts. The lady at the front desk was nice enough to help haul my luggage up the 3 flights of stairs. It was a bit precarious bringing it all down to check out. The breakfast was absolutely lovely.
The room was small but cozy. It lacked a view, but the window provided good airflow. It fit my solo traveling needs perfectly. Good central location, clean, comfortable, friendly staff who spoke English, and good wifi. A bit noisy at night, but in fairness I left the window open.
The staff was accommodating in every way. We really felt like our every needs were met. They even printed out driving directions when we needed them. Breakfasts were delicious, including made to order omelettes. Packed us a breakfast when we had to leave early for the TGV. We will stay there again for sure.
