The people make this property special. From the maintenance man, to kitchen staff, wait staff, and front desk were all tremendous and went the extra mile. Great location especially if visiting Poas Volcano or La Paz Waterfall gardens. Units are a little rustic, but charming

We really enjoy the stay in the hotel. It's only 10km to the park, so we went early the second day am to avoid the traffic. The room is big and clean. It's a lovely wooden suits. Breakfast is delicious.

We were floored when we first saw the view and the room! It is so special and our first night was quiet and romantic. The grounds are gorgeous. The staff was exceptional! We only had a couple of complaints and when we had the complaints, the staff was eager to help in any way possible. I was a little worried during the taxi ride to the hotel that I had made a terrible mistake in picking the hotel as some of the areas look a little rough (by American standards), however, once at the gated hotel I realized that I indeed had made a good choice when choosing the location as the property is incredibly calming and beautiful. Just know that since you are out of the city you will need to use Uber eat or a taxi to get food as there is no onsite restaurant.

This hotel (not really kind of a retreat/B&B) is set away from the surrounding towns and is in the middle of a small working farm. You drive past cows and milking stalls on the way in....you feel that you're stepping even further away from your busy life to a simpler time. This wonderful property has amazing views and plenty of activities to enjoy from waterfalls to the farm where they grow their food as well as multiple pools with beautiful views and personal villas that provide privacy and comfort! All of the staff members were extremely pleasant and very helpful with booking spa experiences as well as helping with anything you wanted or needed outside of the resort. Going to CR by myself; the staff at Gardens House were awesome. They treated me and those I met that also stayed there very well. I will def return to this place when I come back.

This was our second time staying here and we love this place! Staff is very helpful, and made the effort to communicate with us, using our very limited Spanish. Trees and flowers are beautiful here. Many choices on Free Breakfast menu, and food is very good. We love staying in this place and know that the staff takes great pride in keeping the natural beauty of Costa Rica, and providing excellent service.

Great hotel, clean and nice

If you’re looking to feel what it’s like to live in Costa Rica then this place is for you! It’s a property that has been turned into 14 rooms and it sits at the top of a hill overlooking all of the San José valley and the view is breathtaking!! Super quiet and very relaxing place, Lino, the property manager was great and helped us with everything we needed. This place was everything we wanted on our trip and we will be definitely coming back!

We stayed one night prior to leaving Costa Rica. The hotel’s shuttle picked us up at the Sansa terminal and brought us directly to the property. Great place to spend a night before our flight home. The host met us at the door when we arrived and was up at 4:30am to see us off. My wife and I walked to several nice restaurants just 8 minutes away. Very close to the airport, very clean and great value! Had A/C and a refrigerator to keep some food cold. Safe, gated parking but definitely not a lot of room. We had a mid sized SUV which fit fine, but anything bigger would be a tight fit. Would definitely stay here again.

Great customer service, even booked a shuttle for the next day (same price as if I did it myself). Airport pickup, reception, check-in, breakfast, local directions, and the room were all excellent. They even drove us to a nearby restaurant. The only drawback was that Room #1 was in the hallway, so be aware that noises in the hallway and bedroom transmit easily.

The hotel was right next to the airport which was great for our late arrival and early departure from Costa Rica. We arrived at 9:30pm and were able to check in and get a good night rest after our flight. We enjoyed the great breakfast in the morning before heading out. We stayed there for 19 days. The property was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant served delicious food. The free breakfasts were always good and the service was great!
