I am grateful for the amazing affordability of this hostel which was also paired with a low-key easy-going atmosphere. When I was told that there would be “a pancake” in the morning I wasn’t expecting much but I was happily surprised to discover that this pancake was very large, neither over cooked nor under cooked and it was decorated with two different fruits on top along with syrup of course. Thank you! I’m so grateful.

Had a hard time finding this place because the online directions were wrong. However, the difficulty finding it was more than outweighed by our experience with the hotel itself. This is a brand new property, recently built. This hotel has a great location, steps from the Costa Rica Convention Center, there are shopping malls, clinics, restaurants, at walkable distance. There is shuttle service to the SJO airport, Breakfast was great too including costarican typical food. Hope to be staying here again soon!

We had a wonderful Christmas week at Canal Grande Lodge! Raffael and his staff were excellent hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. The small hotel was quiet and beautifully situated. You could walk to restaurants and a few small local stores. We enjoyed Santa Margaritas down the street on 2 nights of our stay. Hotel staff was very friendly and professional as was the in-house restaurant. All were more then helpful with local info and obtaining needed transport. Very safe and friendly stay.

We stayed here on the front and back end of our trip to The Springs and Peacelodge. The hotel is nicely decorated, clean, and close to downtown San Jose. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the free breakfast is great. We also ate dinner here and the food is very good. The only downside is that the rooms are small and it can be quite noisy, as there are many buses driving by all the time. I would suggest a room on the top floor and on the opposite side of the Main Street.

We only stayed here for an evening as a stop over before our flight but we really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and really helped us out when we couldn’t get an Uber due to a local event. The rooms were modern and clean and the pool area was peaceful.

I found the place to stay at in Alajuela!

This is a well located property with a nice breakfast included. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was modernized and very comfortable. Easy walk to the 3 major museums.

Took a while to find the place but when I arrived, finally, the hotel looked very inviting from the outside. I had the upstairs suite with a nice balcony overlooking the pool. The only thing was when I got to my room and it was late when I checked in, I didn't realize until an hour later that the cold knob in the shower was broken. No worries though, early next morning I was moved into another suite with my own private garden next to my bedroom. Thanks guys!

The hotel was right next to the airport which was great for our late arrival and early departure from Costa Rica. We arrived at 9:30pm and were able to check in and get a good night rest after our flight. We enjoyed the great breakfast in the morning before heading out. We loved everything about this hotel and we are so happy we chose to stay here. The hotel was very clean; we would come in and our room would smell and look amazing. The food options at the restaurant were excellent (we tried all the local dishes and local juices/milkshakes). We felt that the location was perfect- we liked the fact that the airport shuttle was easily accessible; we felt safe walking around the area; and the best part was having a Walmart so close (walking distance) for snacks...

We stayed one night prior to leaving Costa Rica. The hotel’s shuttle picked us up at the Sansa terminal and brought us directly to the property.
