Truly lovely place to stay...staff incredibly helpful and the breakfast is awesome (even had gluten-free options for my daughter!). Rooms are comfortable and clean.
First of all, the hotel Inn is perfectly located in the quaint perfection of this small American town. Great small-town shops surrounding, a beautiful view with a fantastic long second floor balcony where you can sit and talk; the hotel restaurant is just as beautiful with outside tables and balcony. The food was great, and the breakfast was amazing! The mountain bike trails are very close and there's a couple bike shops right in the downtown area. We WILL be going back soon.
Enjoyed our stay enhanced by the manager Joey!! He was so polite, remembered all our names, so pleasant to all, respectful of all the children ( we had a lot! ) and was so helpful finding the Chanel for the Knicks!
The pool was a hit with the 4 grandchildren. It was a birthday celebration for 3 of them. The front desk extended out stay until 1:00 p.m. which was great. The breakfast was super, and the kids loved the cinnamon buns. The variety of choices was great. The rooms were beautifully appointed and the beds were very comfortable!! All in all a great stay. The one thing that was disappointing was that the pictures showed a jacuzzi in the pool area, and it must have been a very old picture.
I love staying at the Lafayette Inn every time I visit my daughter. It’s always clean, spacious and quiet. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I did notice on this stay that a hot breakfast is no longer provided. That was always a really nice touch. Too bad they changed that.
Staff brought the history of the home to life; Sara gave us a tour of rooms w/ gold gilt ceilings & explained how the home was saved from demolition. Breakfast servers were the model of perfect service & also willing to take us to the wine cellar & unoccupied rooms. Even the groundskeeper was warmly welcoming & a source of info for the area. The Sayre Mansion staff brought Bethlehem to its full glory!
Perhaps make the rooms a bit more sound proof. There is an amusement park across the road and while the noise isn't too loud, you can still hear the screams of park goers. I could also hear the people walking around in the room above me and the muffled voices of the people in the next room. This is my only complaint about my stay, but I've dealt with worse noise levels at other hotels, so I'd say this is mild as best.
