The remodeled parador is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious as well as the bathroom. Our bathroom had a problem with the bidet and the maintenance person could not fix it. Too bad bcs that is one feature that is disappearing in European hotels and I was very pleased to see it in the parador. The food in the restaurant was very good and so was the service. I must say that the service in the cafeteria/bar was beyond excellent. The staff was so diligent and sweet. I love this...

Happily for me, my time in Javier coincided with the running of the bulls in Pamplona so I was unable to find a hotel in town. I found the Parador because it was close enough to Javier. I predict that the Parador will earn the kind of reputation which will make it a "go to" hotel in Spain and internationally. It boasts of a courteous and efficient staff, lovely clean rooms, a gorgeous setting, and excellent food. The hotel is so good that I recommend more employees learn to speak English...

The most important thing to know about this hotel, is it is NOT in Galar. It is in Salinas de Pamplona. The other thing to know, is that you need a car. There isn't any public transportation. We stayed here because the price was right and it was close enough to Pamplona for the Running of the Bulls. The hotel was comfortable and the town was quiet. There was one restaurant, but they were closed for vacation. I would recommend this hotel if you want a quiet mountain place to stay.
