Beautiful property and great staff. Walked into town and explored on our own. Our only complaint was that the only option for dinner was at the retreat, which did not have much variety for vegans/vegetarians and was generally just ok.
Stayed here to scuba dive off Menjangan Island. Area is very quiet, I think people pretty much only stay here to scuba. When first driving up to resort it seemed odd that it was located off very poorly maintained dirt road. Overall though, resort very nice - multiple pools, restaurant and service very good.
This was our best hotel experience in Bali. The view from the cabin is unbeatable looking into the smoky mountainous rainforest. We also got a free upgrade to à suite. That was awesome. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The room comes with tons of perks like free laundry, free souvenirs, afternoon tea, and guided trek through local plantations. The restaurant food was also fantastic. I would highly recommend.
This was a nice bungalow for the price. Close walk to the beach. There is an outdoor shower and the bathroom is exposed to the outside making it hard to keep bugs out. It was a bit of a nuisance to keep closing the bathroom doors to keep the bugs out and the AC in. They do provide a mosquito net. Bed only comes with a sheet blanket, no comforter on top. Nice personal patio to hang out on and pool. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Note that Pemuteran is more remote so more quiet than the rest...
The staff of the hotel is very friendly and professional. Mr Taruma is always happy to give you great recommendations. The hotel has in place interesting sustainability practices such as free water refill to eliminate plastics and recycling organic material.
This was our second time staying in Batu Ampar Resort. The property is a 10-15 minutes walk from Pasir Putih Beach. The rooms are comfortable, the AC is cold, and the outdoor bathroom is a nice addition. The room was cleaned daily. The food is delicious, and the staff is absolutely lovely! We very much enjoyed our stay in Batu Ampar. Thank you all!
My wife and I stayed at Melaya Estate for 3 nights in September 2025. The villa is spacious and comfortable. There is a private pool and direct beach access. It's a quiet area, very peaceful. The staff is excellent. You tell them what you want from their menu and they bring the food to your villa at the specified time. The food is excellent. It's a beautiful newish property with spectacular views!! It was clean and staff was super helpful and friendly.
The only negative is that it is hard to find - no signs on main street and kind of bad path off the main road. The outside of the property seems to be worked on still so hopefully it will all be resolved once finished.
Also not much to do right around there - but that is probably the case for many places around Bali.

I loved it here and hated leaving. The view is awesome and lofty, overlooking a valley and love plantations. The walk is very steep but smells good. Locals were very friendly. I tried to find the waterfall but got lost. The valley creates some motorbike noise and a neighbor was playing very loud music for about an hour but someone must have shut that down.
