Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei
"Room clean, staff very friendly"
Holiday Inn Taoyuan Airport by IHG
"Decided to transit through Taipei when Typhoon cancelled all Tokyo flights on a Tuesday. Read comments that main downside of the hotel is lack of food options as it is in an industrial zone. So I studied where to exchange cash (supposedly any bank at the airport, flat service fee of 30NTD ), what I can get from 7-11 and when to go out to avoid the heat. Taxi from airport cost about 300 NTD/$10 and driver mentioned the empty lot next to hotel host local food stalls on Tuesday but only if it is a public holiday. Well, within one minute of venturing out, I was in the middle of delicious foods and a tiny amusement park. Lots of people. There are two very dark parking lots near the place and girls and mom with babies keep popping out so the safety must be ok. Hotel’s one way shuttle to the airport would’ve cost 200NDT a piece of checked luggage’s if I don’t have IHG membership."

"Everything is great!"
City Suites Gateway
"Great stay all around. We had an overnight layover and needed a comfortable & convenient option; City Suites more than fit the bill. The location indeed was great - just minutes from the airport and around $200 ($6 US). The staff was very helpful throughout, particularly with check-in/out and getting taxis, The room was clean, spacious, and quiet. Perhaps the most pleasant surprise was the breakfast buffet - a huge number of freshly cooked options and many of them were truly delicious. We'll definitely stay here again for quick trips and would even consider if staying in Taipei."

"It is a great stay, a wonderful experience."
Eastin Taipei Hotel
"Staff were friendly and helpful. Laundry facilities were convenient ($40 NTD for washer, $10 NTD/10 min for dryer, powdered detergent available for free). Communal bathroom cleaned multiple times a day. Room cleaned daily with new bottled water unless asked not to. Very clean common areas. For those who are into collecting commemorative ink stamps, the hotel does have their own stamp at the front desk! I would definitely recommend and would choose this hotel again if I return to Taipei."
Palais de Chine Hotel
"The Hotel itself is a wonderful place to stop, rest and relax, and eat! But the real magic is the people, and it really makes the difference between a hotel and a memory of a family, connection, service and a truly caring staff. Andy is a shining example, his wonderful energy, humor anattentiveness are top notch. His smile and open nature are a feather in this hotels cap. He made us both feel welcomed and seen. Serenading us with some Elvis while never forgetting our needs is a rare quality and Palais de Chine is very lucky to have him. Continuing the excellent customer service and personal touch, Constantine helped me in a time of great travel uncertainty, the dreaded international flight check-in failure. His fluent Japanese and care, calling Japanese airlines and going the extra mile, hanging in when the call was going sideways and finding the crazy naming convention in my airlines middle initial, and switching between English and Japanese, he deftly led the help desk discussion and found the unique path forward so I could confirm my flight and rest easy. He was a smiling beacon of service on more than one occasion. Polly in the Executive Lounge was another excellent help and her competent and smiling attention to our lounge experience was another win for this quality team. Definitely going to return here on our next trip to Taiwan. This hotel is more like a family, than a collection of employees. It made our first trip to Taiwan a more memorable experience.
