"Although I tipped her in my first stay, the receptionist claimed that the room I had booked & confirmed was no longer available and I need to cancel & re-book a bigger room, she also requested that I pay directly at the hotel and not via Expedia (Basically an attempt to grab more money). I cancelled and booked elsewhere. I Will not return"

However, the check-out procedure is strange , the keep guests waiting until some one goes up to check the room and gives clearance to to the receptionist to release the guest with a written paper to the security at the exit door !!!
Pyramids Sunshine Inn is a small (maybe 20 rooms) and intimate new hotel in Giza (next to Cairo).
It features a beautiful rooftop-terrace (with a 24-hour restaurant) that offers an excellent view of the Giza pyramids. I could see them from my bedroom window!!! (though not all rooms have a pyramid view.)

Fairmont Nile City was a beautiful hotel. I booked the signature room which allowed access to the Gold Lounge on the 15th floor. The Gold Lounge provides free wifi (free wifi also in hotel room), work space on 2nd level, free breakfast, free light lunch, and free happy hour light dinner (wine and beer included). All drinks throughout the day were free; juice, coffee, espressos..etc. On the 2nd floor there is a buffet breakfast available for free which was also great, which was open to all...
Our stay at the Le Meridien was great. We were able to walk straight to the hotel through the airport. Food was amazing and we spent the day lounging at the pool. We picked up nice souvenirs from the gift shop and were relaxed for our flight home the next day.
