Very scenic property with chateau style building and fantastic views of the lake. Breakfast buffet was great They allowed us to check our bags before and after our stay. Ice water was always available in the lobby. The hotel is right next to the train station & gondola. Front desk was helpful with directions to the gorge & waterfall.
Lovely hotel in the mountains of Norway. Definitely a place I’d return to and spend extended time. Was impressed by the service, breakfast and they have a very convenient self serve grocery.
Yes the hotel is of an era. If you need a television in such a magical location then you were missing the point in my opinion. Yes it was a bit pricey. More than I have ever spent on a hotel room however I will never forget the experience go back and I would happily go back. It became the highlight of a weeklong trip to Norway. Walking the grounds and admiring the woods and the view is some thing I will never forget
The location of this hotel is INCREDIBLE with views of the fjord and waterfalls! Our room was lovely, spacious and clean with a kitchen and couch. The complimentary breakfast was plentiful and delicious, especially the waffles. It was so nice to stay overnight in Gudvangen when there weren’t crowds there - the evening was peaceful on the fjord and in the morning we were able to do Viking Village when it first opened (axe throwing & archery with no line!!!) before all the tour buses and boat got...
This a charming, beautiful old farm property high on a hill just outside Voss. The staff could not be nicer. Dinner at the restaurant is a "can't miss."
Breakfast was great. We had to pay for parking but it was convenient and reasonable (and they gave us options for free parking.) we had a balcony room and the view of the lake was amazing. Beds were comfy and we slept great
