Reading some of the reviews before I stayed at this hotel made me wonder if I was going to have a pleasant experience; I'm so glad to report that I could not be happier of my decision of staying here; personnel is kind, and naturally caring, I felt like they were looking after me at all times and that's rare in a lot of resorts. One reason for which i decided to stop at this hotel was its location on the beach by the ocean, the rooms look and spacious green territory for relaxation with multiple pools. I don't regret a minute that I made this choice! It was absolutely worth it! The price reasonable for an excellent service quality! Very clean and extremely comfortable and homey rooms! Soft beds, sofa in the room and patio on top of everything! Every room is with view and patio! Isn't that amazing? And falling asleep...

One of the best hotels that my family and I have stayed in. We have used a lot of different hotels throughout the world and Shangri La Colombo ranks one of the best we have stayed in. Friendly staff ... good location ... does not surprise me that this hotel has hosted kings and queens during the last 150 years. I got good service from Shayna at the restaurant there ... nice breakfast buffet.
There are multiple activities within walking distance - casino, spa, bar, pool. sea, restaurant, shopping mall, etc. The hotel is self contained and enjoyable by family members of different ages. It is affordable compared to other hotels in Colombo. It is new and well maintained. Staff speak English, friendly, and helpful.

My friend and I absolutely loved this hotel! It was much better than expected. Rooms are beautiful and so are the views. Right on the beach. Spa was excellent and so was the food. They recommended UpLanka Tours to pick us up from the airport and also for a day excursion- they were fantastic and so friendly! I would definitely recommend this hotel again- the staff is super friendly and helpful. My only complaint was a 250 rupee "room service charge" every time we wanted them to bring us some ice....
Everything from check-in to check-out was smooth and pleasant. I brought home good memories of my stay at FAIR VIEW HOTEL. My wife and I liked the spacious Executive Room on the 8th floor with wonderful sea-view from 20 feet by 12 feet glass window on the West side of the Room.
