Beautiful hotel right on the bank of the Zurich Lake. Unfortunately the hotel was still under construction so we couldn't get to use the outside restaurant - but nevertheless lovely hotel and would definitely stay again. The buffet breakfast is a must and the front desk was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend if you are going to Zurich!
We traveled to Switzerland for the first time and decided to stay here instead of Zurich because it was cheaper. It is far from all the touristy places but that made our stay more peaceful being away from all the crowds we rented a car so location wasn’t a huge problem for us since we just drove everywhere. Breakfast buffet was pretty good and convenient.
A perfect combination if swiss hospitality and great location for practicality.

Nice hotel right at the end of the Stoos funicular. Staff were very friendly and the room was clean. Not a lot to the room but plenty of storage space and served us well for a 2 night stay. Plus the views with the balcony doors open were fantastic.
My only complaint is they charge for everything! 15 CHF per night just to have a coffee maker in the room, 5 CHF for a kettle, etc. But the shop across the way sells coffee for 3.50 and pastries so we opted for that most mornings.

Absolutely amazing stay. Didnt try out the spa but this was an amazing hotel. I believe it was a little slow so the staff upgraded me to a room that faced the lake. Breathtaking views. Anything in the mini fridge is free of charge and breakfast is included. All things that really matter when traveling in an expensive country. Would highly, highly recommend.

I could have driven around to look for a parking spot (I assume for a fee), but elected to park in the underground garage. Parking was $25USD.
Truly wonderful location! Great to have a tram stop right in front, but also was an easy and beautiful walk over the footbridge crossing the Limmat and through the Platzspitz park to the Hauptbahnhof. The views of the Limmat and the industrial quarter all the way to Uetilberg from our 6th floor windows were really stellar! We liked being able to open the big window for some fresh Spring air! The kitchen was great, with it's Keurig, good refrigerator, and dishwasher. And, we were thankful to have...
I have stayed at the Altstadt several times over the years, it’s a great boutique hotel in an excellent location in the middle of the old city. Always very clean and accommodating.
The rooms are really big and very comfortable.
The breakfast is excellent with a very large spread of food and high quality.
The location is also very good. Close to zurich airport and 7 mins to downtown.
Great hotel in amazing location! Spacious and modern room (we booked the large double) in cute Ecco friendly hotel. Staff were very kind and provided great customer service. Breakfast was fine but not too expensive and in a cute little restaurant. The hotel bar is great for apéro or an after dinner drink! Strongly recommend and would return.
lovely property with professional, helpful staff. Unfortunately, there was a heatwave, and the hotel has no real airconditioning. The staff did bring me a fan, and quickly. Restaurant is also great.
The Sorell Hotel Sonnental has a great staff and good facilities. The restaurant and spa are easily accessible and th me rooms are quiet. The hotel is close to public transportation, which is important because it is located outside of the main part of Zürich.
It's hard to believe that an "older" hotel in the middle of Zurich can feel so updated and elegant. I don't know if they remodeled recently, but every square inch seemed spotless. As one of the Rick Steves recommended hotels, the staff and facilities were outstanding. This will be our "go to" hotel if we get back to Zurich.
