Ancient redwoods stand sentinel at nearby Humboldt Redwoods State Park, where the Avenue of the Giants offers a humbling drive beneath nature's skyscrapers. In Garberville itself, the laid-back atmosphere invites lingering at quirky local shops and farm-to-table eateries. Take a detour to see the curious One Log House, carved from a single redwood log. Richardson Grove State Park provides more opportunities to commune with thousand-year-old trees. After hiking, cool off with a dip at Jones Beach along the Eel River. The Benbow Inn Golf Course offers a surprisingly challenging round amid spectacular scenery. For the full experience, time your visit to coincide with events at the Garberville Town Square, the heart of this small but spirited community.

Eureka Inn, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
"Fun to stay in an old historic hotel. Great location in old town Eureka. Lots of restaurants easily walkable. About an hour drive to the Southern entrance to Redwood National Park."
Motel Garberville
"I was very pleasantly surprised by these accommodations. I booked it last minute and the town was pretty much sold out. It was much better than expected. The rooms are clean and updated. The staff was also very nice. I love that I could park right outside my room and it’s convenient to walk to bars and restaurants close by. I would definitely stay here again."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Eureka by IHG
"Requested room service for our stay. On coming back from our first day out, we found that the room was not cleaned. We were told that the staff came by to service the room at around 8:30 to 9:00 am in the morning. We had the do not disturb sign on the door because we were still in the room. We were going for the breakfast at around nine AM. When my wife called the front desk, the staff was not very attentive to our concerns. She was told that we could come to the front desk and pick up the need towels."

Motel 6 Eureka, CA – Redwood Coast
"The floors were really dirty and sandy and the air conditioner didn't work but luckily it wasn't needed too much during the night. Overall not terrible. I'd still recommend it for an overnight stay."
