Easily one of the best hotels I've every stayed at. The staff is courteous, helpful, and very professional. Despite its age, the hotel does not feel old or worn out - I was pleasantly surprised by how well maintained, clean, and neat everything was. The rooms were generously spacious, offered an amazing view of Mt. Fuji in the early morning, and a wonderful view of the bay at night. A perfect location to end my Japan trip. Hotel is right on the beach. Every rooms are either face the ocean or Mountain View. And the room was very spacious.
What a gem! We stayed at Ishinoya after our 4 days of non-stop walking and touring Tokyo and before another 3 manic days of touring Kyoto. It was such a needed reprieve! I wish we could have stayed one more night before heading home.
We booked the room with a private tub, but I tried the public bath very early one morning when it was empty. It was just pure bliss!
You do have to reserve dinner/breakfast in advanced. We're lucky there was one spot left for breakfast. I would have wanted to do...
