Learn more about Rosario Islands
Turquoise waters beckon around these coral-fringed islands, where snorkeling reveals an underwater carnival of tropical fish. The Oceanarium on Isla Rosario offers close encounters with marine life, while beachfront restaurants serve seafood caught hours earlier. Island-hopping boat tours provide the perfect way to discover hidden coves and pristine beaches like Isla Grande and Blanca. The National Aviary showcases Colombia's incredible bird diversity with walk-through habitats. Corales del Rosario National Park protects these fragile ecosystems - respect the coral by looking, not touching. For the fullest experience, consider staying overnight when day-trippers depart and the stars emerge with astonishing clarity over the Caribbean.

Holiday Inn Express Cartagena Bocagrande by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"I love it here . But always sold out"
Hotel Caribe by Faranda Grand, a member of Radisson Individuals
10/10 Excellent
"This is my third time at El Caribe! I love this hotel! I always regret not staying longer."
Hotel Almirante Cartagena - Colombia
8/10 Good
"Probably one of the better looking hotels in the Bocagrande area. The staff was great especially checking in and out. I wish the room was cleaner. There was trash under the couch from the previous guest. The fridge was not stocked and the tiles had grime in the cracks. The view was incredible. Opt for a suit if available. As far as the amenities, we tried to go to the rooftop one night and were turned away being told it was closed with no further explanation. We did not utilize the pool or any other areas as the main focus of the vacation was beach time and exploring the walled city. Be aware that the cost of breakfast is different than what’s presented online. Unlike other hotels, you pay after each meal rather than at the end of the reservation. Beach access was available and only having to avoid minor construction. Over all would recommend."
Sofitel Barú Cartagena

"Friendly staff, clean hotel."
Hotel Isla del Sol
8/10 Good
"Lovely stay at the hotel, the staff were very helpful and attentive. Rooms were a good size and had been fitted with AC which was very necessary. You could book out the paddle boards, kayaks and bikes for an hour for free. The hotel does get a bit busy during the day as people come for day trips but they leave at 2:30 and then it gets pretty quiet again. I think the pool and beach area could be a little better taken care of but overall it was a great stay."
Bora Bora Cartagena
10/10 Excellent
"No hay palabras para describir la experiencia vivida. Empezando por el personal y atención VIP, realmente VIP. José, Damián, no los mencionó a todos porque no recuerdo sus nombres, pero todos fueron fantásticos, nos hicieron sentir como en casa. El lugar, la habitación, el servicio, hospitalidad, en general todo. Mis palabras no le hacen justicia al lugar. Solo puedo decir que es un 100% recomendado. Gina y Francis desde Puerto Rico, volvemos"
Hotel Isla Azul
10/10 Excellent
"We were honored to be the first guests after Isla Azul’s reopening under new management. The hotel manager Pedro is exceptionally friendly and customer-focused. He and his team were a highlight of our stay. He coordinated awe-inspiring snorkeling and phytoplankton tours with an experienced local guide. The restaurant chef whipped up delicious local favorites, made to order, and the piña coladas were nice and cold! The hotel was still in the process of renovating during our stay, so I expect that our short list of less-than-perfect’s will be improved in the near future. Overall, the rustic island atmosphere was a welcome respite from the bustle of Cartagena. The accommodations were basic but comfortable (working AC!) and we felt exceptionally looked-after by all the staff. As an added bonus, for others like us who are used to having to shake our shoes every morning in the tropics, there seem to be virtually NO dangerous plants/animals on the island – no poisonous snakes, no sharks, no crocodiles – just hermit crabs and a few mosquitos (and even those weren’t that bad). Looking forward to seeing this hotel blossom and thrive!"
Fragata Island
10/10 Excellent
"The staff was so kind and happy to help! Every meal we had was great and the drinks were well made. It was very quiet, secluded, and relaxing."
