Hafnarfjordur is applauded for its cultural attractions such as Viking Village and Hafnarborg. This welcoming city has something for everyone including restaurants as well as sights like Geothermal Area of Krysuvik and Kleifarvatn. All are within a small-town setting.
My stay was very comfortable. Beds were comfy, however could use extra pillows, and towels. Loved that there is a lift available incase you have problems with stairs. Location is quiet and somewhat in an industrial area, but there is a grocery store nearby which is walkable. I do suggest having a car to get around. All in all, a good stay.
The staff was friendly and welcoming in both the hotel and restaurant. The included breakfast had a very tasty and wide selection of options, which was great way to fuel up before our outdoor adventures
The hotel is conveniently located, tours pick up right outside the front door. The included breakfast was fabulous. Parking is included. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. We will absolutely stay again next visit.
I had an unfortunate tragedy occur during the flight to Iceland where my wife passed away. The staff here at Storm hotel were over and above extremely accommodating, kind and caring. They had a room ready for me early and blocked it off for me for the duration of my extended stay. The clerks at the front desk were all so nice, caring and friendly, and made me feel as comfortable as possible. When I hadn't been down to breakfast they graciously brought food up to my room for me. Words cannot...
We drove until we were afraid hotels were going to close and this was closest.
No plan except to geocache nearby and drive on in morning.
But if we were horse people, this was perfectly situated in pleasant area with several geographical beauties to ride to/by.
Staff was awesome, but we saw them for only ten minutes. People must got to bed early or we were out of horse season, but felt we had the hotel and the entire plain to ourselves.

Could not recommend this place highly enough. The check in was quick and the front desk attendant walked me to my room. The rooms all had a view of the river that runs behind the hotel and the mountain that overlooks it. Dinner at the restaurant was great. And the outdoor hot tub was a great place to relax and enjoy the northern lights
Best breakfast ever! Really liked that our room had a small window that could be opened. We had a car so location wasn’t a problem but without your own transportation the location would not be convenient.

The hotel was easy to find in downtown. The staff was very friendly when we checked in. There is a 2 for 1 happy hour for beer and wine. The on-site parking was convenient and most welcome after a long journey. The twin room was spacious and we had a view of the spiral church, which was lit at night. The only thing I did not like was the church bell across the street that rings every 15 minutes, but the hotel provides ear plugs. They were a great help.
